Gear crunch still unaddressed

I was just talking about this nonsense in my guild. I'm glad to see a release schedule coming but I can collect every toon in the game but they do me 0 good until geared. At the very LEAST, we should not be getting held up due to blue and green gear. I'd be happy for a but if they would simply add droid callers to the higher level challenge tiers.

Or maybe it's time to add another higher tier to challenges that rewards more as well. This is getting out of control, they keep adding toons but we still have no way to gear them all. And yes, I know they added gear to fleet but imo that's not nearly good enough given fleet currency value in the game.

The one good thing about this is it ensures new people will gear the new Meta

I do think it'd be great to sell all that junk I don't need anymore for something.

Selling for doing what? Buying mods? If we could buy great amount gear for credit then yes.

This. Completely F2P shouldn't have the ability to gear/level/star characters at the same rate as P2P - otherwise, where is the incentive to spend? Simply put, F2P have to focus their resources, be disciplined in their spending (that includes gear) and make choices. Real money is the only way to "speed up" the grind. It's been that way since the beginning, and, as Kyno points out, the way it is supposed to work.

ETA: You have 2-3 months (at least) to farm gear for new heroes you want. Just look on swgoh.gg to see their higher level gear requirements and start farming it when they are originally released. That's exactly how people in my guild have g11 GK two days after they unlocked him - they farmed and saved.

Lol. We are not talking about going at the same rate. We are asking for a way of scalability and reasonability: Why should a level 85 have more difficulty to grind gear than the level 60? MK4 keypads are as difficult to get as holoprojectors at level 85 because you need to farm the last tier of the attacker challenge.

In a way, our request also helps the P2P: G11 gear are an insane amount of crystal if you think about it: a mk4 holoprojectors cost 50 cuffs and the raid gear (2800 crystals), the mk3 bactagel is around 3100 crystals.

Moreover there is a clear imbalance in gear salvages as well.

I am completely happy for P2P to have OP toon that can crush the old meta, but gear grind should be relieved. Players leaves this game partly because Devs are not giving response to our constructive concerns and feedback, and there was a poll where along 300 participants more than 90% of the players thought the situation was ridiculous and as bad as the credit crunch.

You seem to be conveniently leaving out that some of the harder to farm gear is also available in higher level challenges (i.e. Mk6 Syringes) - and why do you NEED to farm the last node of the attacker challenge? I have 200+ of the Mk 8 BioTech, so when I need some Mk4 keypads (which I currently have 100+ of), I simply run a few sims of Tier IV attacker challenge.

Also at 85, you typically pick up a couple of good gear pieces in your daily prize box - not to mention the crystals in that prize box to help buy more gear in shipments.

If you are completing both raids on a regular basis (which you should be at 85) you are picking up gear (whole and salvage) at a decent rate.

In the past month I have levelled and geared TFP to 11 with no trouble. Darth Maul is already sitting at G11 waiting for his 7th star.

I honestly feel the grind less at 85 than I did several months ago. Now, it is true that that is balanced (which is kind of the point here) with the fact that I "need" a character to be at G11 to be arena viable at this point - but again, balance and the constant need to improve or fall back is exactly what the game is based on.

Yes, there is a grind - but only if you feel the need to "keep up". But that's the game, so I don't see the issue. Sorry.

I am leaving out the easy farm, because they are also the most required gear by the way. We are in constant need of Syringes and Carbantis and they are still 1400 crystal. You receive 2 pieces of something you need 1000 of. I take anything that is free, but let's be realistic it won't help as the credit heist helped. I rank top 3 in HAAT and half of the rewards are useless...
