Gear grind fine line.
I'm an advocate of a solid grind in games. Sometimes I don't like it but in the long run I find it's very rewarding to complete something difficult.
But (always a but) there is a fine line between solid grind and a sense of hopelessness which leads to boredom.
I've found myself lately crossing that fine line. With so many zeta abilities and new characters to level, I'm left with more of the feeling that I'm not actually able to enjoy using the characters because I can never get them to a point where they're useful.
In short, the grind needs to be alleviated a little or the game will become boring. Flash events tried this and had good rewards at the start but even those got dialed back. Now they're pretty useless.
My 2 cents.
