Also, how is it greedy when further progression is gated behind a currency that is literally unbuyable? Accusations of corporate greed have become a stand-in for, "I don't like it, therefore greed."
I'm not a fan of the GET gate, but it's a pacing mechanic. Not greed. It's literally insurmountable by pay, and can only be tied to money in the most tangential possible ways.
