Holy florescent beige furry poo weasels!!! I appear to have hit a nerve...sorry about that!
First and foremost, I don't necessarily disagree with you. As I said earlier, I think there is a very slight advantage of going second. There are a few streamers that deliberately do this. However, I think that going early and posting a score can put players off (mostly because of the apathy I spoke about).
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:harvestmouse1" You just this type of player, who scare of atttacking activity,
I take it you had a look at my account before making such claims? If you haven't I'm 'harvestmouse' (628491512) in swgoh.
Let's have a look then:
This week in round 1 & 2 I have full cleared (or couldn't clear 1 team) so at the very least 18 times per match up.
Last week: I attacked 12, 9 (clearly lost early) & 20 times.
Last 5v5 (I do prefer 5v5) I attacked: 21, 15, 15, 3, 14, 15, 16, 15, 19.
That's a lot of attacking, so the apathy I spoke about isn't personal; I love doing my GACs...mostly.
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:harvestmouse1" You just this type of player, ......................., to sit always for last moments
Well again, I presume you checked my accounts to see if I wait to the last minute. I'll concede that I do play possum from time to time (if I have the time) but generally I attack whenever I have the time and motivation.
The match up I'm looking at my first attack was 1:33 am August 14th and my last attack was 8:30 pm August 14th. The attacks spread out when I had time.
Picking another at random:
First attack: September 11 6:08 am Last attack: 7:41 am. I lost that on efficiency where my opponent's last attack was 2 pm. So, clearly this stab at my furry little chest is false too!
Please at least check your facts before making thrusts and swipes with your hurtful knife!
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:to sit always for last moments (because you have not different life)
Now look...it's not necessarily my fault my life is a failure! I've had some rough breaks (or so I keep telling myself) and I'm not the most mentally stable...
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:doing for victories vs players who can not sit to the night with you (because they have another life). It is pathetic. The system must attack players like you, no defending them.
Well I've already proven that this is a false claim. I do not play like this.
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:harvestmouse1 If you don't know how your opponent attacks, then—if you want to win—you are forced to attack at full strength every time.
I 100% understand the concept. I think you're right that it 'could' help balance matches. My argument against it is:
- The level of apathy in GAC now. Most players want to stop when they know they've lost. GAC is extremely time consuming, especially in Kyber. You're talking the best part of 2 hours for attacking. That's not including any preparation.
- Losing really doesn't matter. You'll make that loss up in some point in the future. You're not going to magically end up winning more than you should.
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:That is the goal of the rule changes: to eliminate the ability to achieve a high win rate
There is no high win rate. That was the goal of the ladder, which it has achieved. The only way you're outside the win rate parameters is if your account is far better than the surrounding accounts (a new account that is well developed or a returning player) or you're right at the top of the game, high in K1.
3vr4y7bq1pn6 wrote:sitting in front of the monitor until the final minute of the attack phase and snatching the win without efforts.
This is not a thing. They either snatch the win with effort (being super efficient) or would have won without effort anyway.
Look, the end of the day I do agree with heart of your argument, in principal. I believe there is a slight advantage in going second, but very slight. I also think the principal of having a 'fog of war' would be better for a competitive match up. The big issues and why it should be a no, it will add a lot to how much time we put into GAC & it simply doesn't matter on a ladder; you'll make the loss up anyway.
If we were professionals, being paid to do this, I'd be up for it. However, being people with lives outside of SWGOH (well everyone apart from me apparently) we don't need more time added to a SWGOH lives for such a little reason.
