The match I am in right now - my opponent cleared my lower front last night. I was busy last night and could not start anything until today.

I cleared his lower front. I then did a few more squads.

He then did all squads but one in my lower rear. I finished his squads. He then finished that squad and two of my fleet. I did all his fleet and now I am waiting to see whether he will defeat my last fleet or not.

In such a back and forth match there is a bit of excitement and suspense that would be completely eliminated by this proposal. I find GAC a lot more enjoyable when I can see things in progress. Granted this type of GAC battle doesn't happen all that often but the whole GAC experience would be further diminished by the proposal.

What are you talking about? Most opponents do absolutely nothing until the final hour of the attack phase. They just want to see what you’re doing so they can secure a win with minimal effort.
At the same time, I can't sit in front of the screen with him until late at night, because I need to go to bed much earlier. And I don't want him to just freeload off the situation. Nor do I want only two or three attacks to be carried out during the entire phase.
This has become really annoying.
