If you (CG) intend to create FOMO around limited time titles/portraits I hope there are more compelling ones than the ones you listed in the post. I can't think of a single title/portrait you listed that I would display at all, much less be afraid of missing out on.
Regarding non-participation. I think your changes are a step in the right direction but they are not a suitable substitute for auto deploy. I believe you underestimate the number of players who just want to watch the world burn (1 in 27 human beings on earth, according to Harvard's Martha Stout) and will join and not participate just out of spite; just to try and make sure someone will not be able to complete feats and earn less banners. I hope you continue to work on auto-deploy and get that working consistently.
I applaud any improvements you implement against cheating. However, as I'm sure you can understand, gamers in general are once bitten twice shy. Your previous statements about anti-cheating efforts seemed to be mostly empty platitudes, so I, for one, am certainly hoping this time it's not. I guess we'll see.
