There's also a scenario that putting a multiple day timer before joining another guild actually -hurts- a normal player.
Say you are looking for a new guild because you don't like the guild you are in. You post on the forums, talk to some people and decide to join them. Well what happens when you join a guild and gosh they lied. It's a bad guild where no one participates. You are now stuck without a guild yet again waiting for whatever arbitrary time was come up with.
Heck I'm sure there are tons of regular players that don't use the forums that join a guild it stinks leaves and joins another one. This has a greater impact on them if we add some long timer to stop the whales from doing whale like things. But ofcourse no one cares about the nameless players. As not one of you have even mentioned what adding a long timer before a new guild would actually do to players that aren't friends with people on the forums.
It's nice that there are some groups on here that have made friends and guilds last forever, but that's not the normal for the thousands of guilds in the game.
