Are the gungans good or are the mechanics just messed up? In GAC, you destroy the shield but lose the battle. You submit the battle. Next battle, they get a new shield? Why? I used new BB. Hunte...

Can you even mark the shield generator? I didn't think you could. I don't remember seeing it with Mr Revan.
Nass summons the shield generator for the start of the battle. An old battle is an old battle....Nass has a parking lot full of new shield generators.
I think you'll see Gungans less and less on defence. However, we'll have to see how they shape up for the next few months with a plethora of datacrons to choose from.
