From what info I gathered, some people claimed the Calendar super early, just before the Coliseum reset time (in this case it's still bugged at one hour after a new boss rotates in), which is why they are ahead of those who claimed the Calendar after this window.
CG should be addressing this and fixing this next week, even if it doesn't seem like something urgent to some people, it involves the concept of Fair Play; we all spend time and money on this game, and nobody should be disadvantaged just because of where they are on the globe. Everyone should have the same amount of the free Loaned Unit Upgrade Mats (not counting those from other sources like Marquee events, Pass + and those 2 bundles, because that is a consumer choice), and they should be available at the same time, which is at the very start of when a new boss rotates in.
Just FYI, I'm at Tier 8 for the 3 @$$bandits today with Mothma, Cara, Drogan, NewZeb and R5-D4, no problem getting top 1 or 2 in my group. Yes my Calendar is also a day behind, and no it's not because of reset time, I have people in my time zone who are 1 reward box day ahead of me.

I completely agree but remember that people set their reset times as soon as something happens so their reset time matched v others they may seem so far ahead, they arent. If people are so obsessed then set your own reset time to the minimum you can, its NOT a bug its just regional timing, players reset timing.
The bug that is an issue is that it shows an update or whatever is available an hour before its due. Thats it.

I think that there are a couple of independent issues here. The first is that the you can't collect the prize in the first hour that it appears available in the Loaned Unit calendar. This does not seem to be a major bug as you can always wait that hour and then do the battles in the last 23 hours of your "day". But CG has said that they are working on the fix for this. The second issue appears to be that some accounts are further advanced in the calendar that everyone else by 1 or 2 days. I have not heard a response by CG but this one does put people at an advantage who have a higher loaned unit level due to this.

Reset times are only for daily quests

Incase it hasnt been thought of, and i do want to think that no one is being cheated, players can do their own reset times so maybe, just maybe those who have done a lesser reset time are on day 5 . If people are so stressed on coliseum thats worrying,

??? Ive literally seen screenshots of people on day 5. I've got my level up now, but I'm only on day 3. It's not just a timing issue.

Its 1 hour. No it doesnt, stop feeling cheated. Its a bug between a reset time of say fleets and kessel run rewards. Theres always a region thats ahead, the world is round you know.

Exactly what nighthawk said, im trying to compete with others in the coliseum for rewards so its unfair that others are getting 1 or 2 levels more when we're all supposed to be at the same one unless you're actually buying unit era levels. It gives them an advantage and us who aren't getting those same levels a disadvantage.

Yes it is a bug that needs to be fixed and CG has said that they are working on the fix. I was just trying to provide information on how to work around it for now.
