I used some lightweight math: if i just hoard during 1 day i lose 240 free regen energy. 3 refresh will grant me 360 energy that will be worth 720 on may 4th, so i ‘gain’ 360 energy by hoarding, for a net gain of 360-240=120 energy per day of hoarding. So you can hoard every energy until you hit energy cap, which should be done in about 3 days. I’ll still do the bare minimum for dailies, so the gain will be a little less.
Now, this light gain might not be worth the trouble and you could just wait until the end of the day on may 3rd to refresh your energy and be done with it (even refreshing an extra 3 times for 100 energy, as it will be like doing an extra 3x50 refresh, which is still the most efficient way to spend your crystals).
Also, if you take a free daily chest in the web store, you might hit cap sooner, making it less efficient to hoard for 3 whole days.
