How to change profile picture

Sorry this may be better as an off topic post. But just a quick question for the moderator. Have a real newb picture as my profile pic. How can I change my picture? And are GIFs possible...

I just tied. I'm on a mobile, so it looks like the only way is to click the options, (top left) then go into the "full site" and use the options menu there.

I could be wrong. I don't really know. I'm surprised a Mod hasn't helped you tho. So I tried.

I've never seen gifs. So I'm assuming that's not possible.
