How to Keep Conquest Great

Imo Galactic Conquest is one of the best additions this game had ever had. However, I believe we are starting to see some missed opportunities in relation to this new feature. I'm not going to complain about DCS disks being removed or the cost of removing disks because I think those have been a fairly regular gripe. I think the biggest missed opportunity in conquest revolves around the enemy squad compositons. Conquest would be an awesome way to let the players face the Acklay with other units instead of the required ones in TB. It could shine a spotlight on the Nexu, which most players don't even see, and provide a new experience without any real additional content. There are enough units in this game to make the bosses feel like a more cohesive journey, and the modifiers can bump up the ones that may be lackluster under normal circumstances. For example, we have four Lukes in this game, 3 of them are capable of fielding exceptional teams, why not place them chronologically as bosses to theme a GC? Start incorporating the big bads from TB and give each Conquest a theme and you'll be back on the right track to keeping this content fresh and engaging. I know there are other great ideas out there, what could improve conquest for you?

Also, the all-LS/DS battles are awful. What’s the point of having a quasi-sandbox if we can’t theorycraft and try new things without being penalized?

It's not a sand box. It's prescribed play (feats) that penalizes experimentation (energy + disc-swapping costs). It's a mundane drag with the carrot of a new character that isn't obtainable any other way as the reason to trudge through.

TL;DR It's work. CAT is this month's paycheck.

Gifafi finishes today. He has four days to experiment for zero cost and with zero prescribed play.

Disc-swapping costs don't go away after you have max rewards. Sandbox ain't free. Which is why I stop playing the mode the second I've completed red crate.

Giraffe complained about LS/DS feats preventing theorycrafting. Nothing is stopping him now.

The modifiers. Can’t really theorycraft with the modifiers in place. Conquest would have great replay ability if after you earn the Red crate, you could turn off all the disks and enemy modifiers and turn them back on if you wanted. Then it would be a place to theorycraft.

even then you wouldnt be able to theorycraft that well cause of mods...

I really, really like this idea. After the red crate, it's a true sandbox. This is the way.
