JJ just makes remakes, what new things did he bring to Star Wars? Yep, nothing! What new did he bring to Star Trek, yep nothing!
And Rian made a heap of nothingness. I think we can all agree that the sequels brought nothing new or exciting to Star Wars. Were they interesting movies? For the most part. Meaningful? Well, no.
Well that’s just not true. Why would anyone agree to that? The sequels were exciting and had different concepts that were introduced. What would even define this exciting and new?
The new movies were enjoyable. If you didn’t think they brought anything new that’s fine but don’t try and tell me how to feel about them.
That’s the funny thing about being meaningful. Not everyone gets the same meaning out of things. If you didn’t feel it was meaningful doesn’t mean someone else couldn’t find it meaningful
Like I said: Interesting, yes. Enjoyable, yes. But meaningful to Star Wars... well that’s up for debate.
I agree that the themes in the Last Jedi were nice and all, but they didn’t fit in with the Star Wars around it. Especially after The Rise Of Skywalker, Luke’s sacrifice was mediocre at best. He died so that people would help. It took Lando and Chewie to do that. Luke seems just like a cranky old man, and regardless of morals, regardless of meaning, it just makes him less awesome which is... sad. Rian didn’t teach us failure, he taught us how to accept that the first 40 years of an exciting hero could change.
