I'm against shard mafias. I don't think EA does enough or anything to discourage or stop them.
I'm on a November 2015 shard. I've never been invited to the cool kidz club.
So what I like to do is gather up enough crystals to thwart the griefing and ruin their scheme by taking 1st or 2nd day after day for as long as it takes to stop them from ganging up.
Now that's not for everyone because it requires crystals for several consecutive refreshes - but it sure feels good when I beat them at their own game.
