What's the point of reaching a conclusion. The conclusion is: whatever Disney decides to include in canon, is canon. Thrawn wasn't canon until he got included in Rebels. The books about him still aren't canon (except the new one). The Force Unleashed is not canon. Whether Disney decides to include its story (modified or not) in the canon on how the Rebel Alliance came to be, remains to be seen.
