Yes, exactly. I still have over 3.200 of those. I grew over 300k to almost 4,5 million GP since i saw a thread about this theme months ago. So what in the galaxy are you doing? You're welcome. And my value to this conversation is just a question: How comes that other players don't have these problems even if they upgrade a lot? Yes, i may upgrade other toons. But i don't buy it that you used literally thousands of those golden eyes on toons that are somewhat useful. To be more specific: I don't believe you ever had a lot of them which means you're either not playing that long or never participated in events where you can get those. The first one is a matter of time like for every other gear so work to it as everyone else did. The second one is your own fault.

I'm sorry, but that's not why they removed them. They have a member of the development team who's responsible for balancing the in-game economy. They might have been the (false) reason given - the actual reason is "gated progression".

People have posted a lot of things en masse, and CG has ignored them. This was not miraculously one of the few times CG has listened to the player base.

Agreed. My point was simply that CG didn't act on players' request.

I don't know if you remember the forum topics rampant at that time but CG acted on playerbases request for "removing challenge gear from raids". They were obviously aware removal of this specific was one for their benefit and at expense of us. I made numerous topic along with other people that were also aware which was pushed into vagueness by "I have thousands of it" folks so they happily slipped the nerf with the overall change.

You're either lucky or purposely not upgrading all the very good toons that need them. I don't make complain threads, it is what it is, but I'm 4.5m and I have 110 of these things.

I have had to start farming these from the guild store.... thats when you know desperation is setting in. Padme needs like 50 golden eye balls and so does ashoka ...... so yea maybe by the 3rd time G$ comes around I will have enough of these pieces to gear these characters. Right now, with farming the piece, buying it from the guild store, and the challenge... it takes roughly a week to get 60 of these things.... which is enough for 1 eye ball.

As everyone, I had 1000s of this piece, and then it became as valuable as a stun gun or cuff. However, there is good news! As I've been focusing on gear XIII as of late, I've been gaining a stockpile again. Have enough for almost 6 eyeballs and it's growing.

Same, miserly. 3.7mil and 295 here. I used to have as much as the other gold salvage gear, which is easily in the 2500+ realm.

A big problem isn’t gating the gear, it’s that SO many good toons need multiple gold eyeballs. I mean, even Ahsoka needs 300 each to reach g13 according to swgoh.gg. Not to mention that most of the time you need 60 salvage and 50 components, so at the rate they’re needed/used/given, it makes sense to use them up just as fast since you need more of them.

It's because you have a very bottom heavy roster. 4.5M GP and only 53 characters at G12 or higher is not a very focused approach. We have a couple of players in our guild at 4.5M GP with nearly 90 characters at G12 or higher. They've run out of these pieces.

Your play style is fine but it's dramatically different than many of those running out of these pieces.

Some of the community rallied not to get them removed. And some of the community were like “are you crazy!? I have thousands of them!”

And we were all like - they’re going to run out as you gear more to g12

And they were like - ok, whale!

And we were like - cg please no!

And cg was like - your wish is my command! No more challenge gear!
