Journey Guide is NOT Beginner-Friendly

Here are some screenshots from my secondary account which is currently at level 79.

The Journey Guide won't let me access any of the events (except Palpatine, Yoda, and Thrawn) because I don't meet the level 85 requirement. Capital Games has basically put a "Hyperdrive Bundle" requirement on every single Legendary and Journey character. The Journey Guide was supposed to help beginner players understand what path to take and what characters to upgrade, but they can't even unlock the characters that they have worked so hard for until they reach level 85.

The screenshot of my roster is to show that before the Journey Guide was introduced, I was able to complete the BB-8 event and receive a 7-star BB-8, which is a feat that is now impossible.

Congratulations CG, you have actually made the game MORE difficult for beginner players... *slow clap*

EDIT: A lot of people are misunderstanding me, so let me clarify.
I think the Journey Guide is a great idea. As a level 85, I love being able to play the events whenever I want and I love being able to replay the events just for fun. BUT take a second and think about it from a beginners point of view: Before the release of the Journey Guide, beginner players could unlock powerful legendary and journey characters, which would make the grind much more enjoyable. Now they have to grind all the way to level 85 to unlock those characters (most people quit before then because the toughest grind is levels 70-85). The whole idea of the Journey Guide was to allow beginner players to progress faster and enjoy the game more, but instead it is aimed at level 85 players only.

Let’s just call the JG what it truly is: An attempt to get new players to buy the Hyperdrive bundle. That’s it. Everything they did was for that one single thing: Get new players to spend money. Not only does it increase their revenue tremendously, they are hoping it gets people hooked on spending money long-term.

Well, yeah. Why else would someone offer a product if not to get people to buy it and hopefully buy more in the future?

Rtt: This has really “screwed” me and I am being “punished” bc it looked like my alt has an easy ship shard and now others have 5* ships. It’s so “unfair” that people can move ahead of me just because they paid to do so, allowing me to play a great game for free. Rigged, I tell ya. Next thing you know my neighbor who has more money than me will have a nicer car or be able to go on vacations in a private jet to Disneyland to see the Star Wars area.

    Spoiled little...

We had to wait months upon months for a legendary

Now all u gotta do is be level 85 and you get everything thrown at you.

    Smh

Now i get it. Both of my Accounts are lvl 85 so i didnt realise.
    But like the quotation shows:

U can now get every toon immediately once you are lvl 85. So i Think this can be a good excuse for the new lvl requirements.

Neverthless if you have the toons for all legendaries you are on level 85

Wait, so it doesn’t even tell you which toons are required to unlock the character until you hit level 85? How does this help new players farm???

Looks like it does, just not on the tab you'd expect it to. The activity screen also tells you what characters you need. Not sure what happens for someone under level 85 that hits ok on that message.

Um lvl 85 has always been required for the hero's journey characters and related legendaries.

Clearly that isn't the case since he has BB8 at L79 who is a Legendary for ReyJT

It's like saying "wahhh I don't have all the ships to unlock Han's ****... this sucks...."

Actually its nothing like saying that.
Last week you could fight for GM-Yoda at L60.
    This week you CAN'T.
I'm with the OP, this is a BS move if intentional.

Wait months upon months? That's a bit (huge) exaggeration.
They run every 90 days & there are so many we see 1-4 a month.

Most people won’t be ready for multiple legendaries before lvl85 anyway.

    Not so sure about that.
I had 5* Palp, 6* Yoda, & 7* Thrawn all before hitting 85 & having them did wonders for my roster.

Again, I'm with the OP here.
I love the new JG, but I'm 85 now, it would have sucked not being able to do the events when I did them.
I had Palpatine after 30 days of playing. Yoda at 45. Thrawn at 2.5 months.

The goal was to improve things for new players.
Not improve things for just new P2P players.
Not make things worse for new F2P players.
Hopefully this gets fixed & isn't intentional.

I've found a way to play the events anyway. You can tap on the character and then search were you can find the shards. With that way, you can play de event even if you're not level 85

Thanks!! Just did that as well.
I have been grinding my alt account for a while (now level 83 - the last 10 levels from 75 to 85 seem to take ages).
Was looking forward to putting 6* on BB8 and R2 - then JG comes along and I cannot play these events anymore...

Getting Phoenix ready to unlock Thrawn as soon as I could was big motivation along the grind. If I had had to wait till level 85 to unlock any of the legendary characters it would have been a lot less fun. It's not as if it is done in a couple of weeks. Achieving some milestones along the way makes the journey so much more rewarding.

JG is a great addition to the game, I like the look & feel of it. Being able to replay events is something people have requested for a while. So that is really cool!
It's just a shame they slapped a level 85 requirement on it. (It's more of a destination guide that way, not a journey one.)

And this has nothing to do with being ungrateful - it should be perfectly acceptable to praise something while still pointing out its flaws.
