KAM is dead, Long Live Reva

As I've said on the 50ShardsOfKAM discord server, the Omicron for Omega is an easy button for KAM. BadBatch doesn't play differently in the KAM mission than in other battles, so you don't need to learn all the ins & outs of the Reek and any special mission dynamics. Just go in, play like you normally play BadBatch, and either you lose before you can get your buff train going because of B2 dispels and opening burns killing your toons, or you win. Defeating the reek with BadBatch is not an intellectual challenge or a special accomplishment. It's a combined RNG/relic test.

Now it's okay if the game has some of those, but the Shaak/501st version rewards skill. The more you know about the mission, the higher your success rate, and I can easily get 80% or more victories with straight r4 while someone with straight r8 gets 20% to 30% if they don't know the mission. Unlike BadBatch, you don't play the 501st toons the exact same way you play them in other battles, you have to adjust to the unique dynamics of the reek and Jango. But you sure do get rewarded for those adjustments.

The Omega Omicron is designed to overcome exactly the limitations that BB has in the reek mission: Omega's 5x damage allows you to burn through B2s quickly, even while trampled. Converting protection to health prevents trample from affecting you. In a particularly clever bit of coding, at r5 exactly one-half of your protection converts to health so your survivability is as if you had 1 stack of trample from the beginning that you can't remove, but that can't get worse. Please note that r5 is the required relic level for acquiring LordVader, so that's where most BB squads are at most of the time. (Eventually people up-relic them, but taking them straight to r5 then moving on to other priorities is common and expected.) You are also largely immune to %Health effects -- meaning that burns and exposes, the things that kill you quickly and savagely in the openings before you can use Tech's Brilliant Idea, merely tickle.

At a certain relic level, then (yet to be determined), it should be easy to race through the openings and stealth your squad.

Since once you're past the opening and you can ride the buff train this mission plays like any other battle for BadBatch, anyone with familiarity with the BB kit will be winning this battle a very high % of the time. It's a well constructed Omicron if the goal is to remove any requirement that people actually learn any specific strategies. It's brute force over strategy and tactics.

And again, I like brute force. I use it in many battles.

But the KAM mission has been special. It's held a special place in the hearts of many who found the complicated, dynamic puzzle of it to be the best piece of content CG has ever crafted for SWGOH.

So my writing here is not to complain about adding the Omicron ability for BadBatch, but for this purpose only: to express my hope and wish that the new TB's analog battle for Reva shards be equally strategically deep and rewarding, equally interesting, and equally challenging.

You created a thing of beauty in the KAM mission, CG. Now all you have to do is do it again.

Please.
