So, personally I don't have a problem with having the wiggle room to use off-faction ships to get the faction feats done. I think it's an opportunity for more theory crafting and a bit of creativity in getting the feats done - which I firmly believe is a good thing.
That being said, it's SUPER frustrating to see something like "Bonuses for First Order!" only to find out that the bonuses are being provided because every other card in the deck is stacked against that faction and the battle is easier by orders of magnitude with almost any other faction. This has been a complaint since GCs were a thing - Seedy has just expressed it in a slightly different way and offered an opinion and some suggestions for seeing it corrected. Apparently that's really offensive to some people.
Bogus faction bonuses aside - the term "Favored Faction" may be a misnomer here? The feat requires that faction - but by definition the feat is supposed to be challenging. If we swap out "favored faction" and use "challenge faction" I think that pulls the context more toward the spirit of the event.
