A year to level 85 sounds super dubious.
It's 290755 XP from level 1 to 85. 885 XP a day from dailies. 540 energy a day with no refreshes. I'll assume just one refresh a day for cantina and regular energy, for a total of 5.8 months. At two refreshes of each energy type a day, it's 5.1 months. Three makes 4.5 months.
Even with no refreshes at all, spending zero crystals on energy and getting all your 45's, it's 6.8 months.
I was on a boat in the middle of the Pacific for three months and still managed to hit 85 in well under a year.
