Mace Windu being underplayed

In my opinion the dev's do a decent job balancing so that there aren't many OP heroes. However there are a few standouts like Yoda, Dooku, etc. What confuses me is why Mace Windu is made into such an irrelevant character.
Just to recall: Mace Windu was considered the champion of the Jedi Counsel amongst nearly every other Jedi we are aware of, even Yoda! He was such a bad@$$ that at one point he was even elected Master of the Jedi Order. In fact the backstory pretty clearly highlights that he was the most gifted fighter within the now 7 movies. He is responsible for the gastly state of Sidious, was amongst the first to sense Palpetines plot, killed one of the Fets, etc. His only loss was trusting Anakin. On top of that we can see him as an absolute monster in the Clone Wars series. In one episode he makes a ~300ft vertical leap.
My point is we look at Yoda with all his flips and quick moves and praise him but forget Mace Windu is the undoubtedly top 5 most powerful characters in the 7 movies and TV series. In fact the only person I'd argue could fairly beat him is Luke at his peak (hopefully 8&9 reveal this power).
Which leads to my conclusion: The game is decently balanced to the actual canon abilities of the characters, but their are some cringe worthy exceptions. For example GS would whoop Mace Windu 1v1....WTF!? I honestly don't think any of the characters available would stand a chance against Mace Windu 1v1. I have my Windu at 7* with maxed armor but I would be willing to earn more shards or whatever to make him as powerful as he rightfully should be. Which is the undoubtedly strongest character in this game.

P.S. I know my complaint will have no effect on the overarching meta, so I guess I'd like to see a discussion about Windu obviously out matching anyone.

I agree with most of this, but why would Luke be able to beat him? I've never understood why people think Luke is so powerful. The only fight he ever won was against Vader, who was getting pretty old and had already been weakened a lot on Mustafar. I think any number of Jedi could have beaten Vader at that point.

My guess is that some of Kylo Ren's new abilities like stopping Poe's blaster shot were taught to him by Luke, and that is only the beginning of what Luke has to offer after ~30 years of hanging out on a rock and what not. He probably wasn't bating his time away and took advantage of the force spirits of QGJ, Obi, Yoda, and Pre-Vader Anakin. I'm sure he's still not the greatest duelist but I have no doubt in episodes 8&9 we are going to see Luke do some force-unleashed-starkiller-esque damage.

But I hope you didn't interpret my post as underming Windu's power based on speculation of how strong Luke is now. I was raving that Windu may truly be the strongest canon charecter to date and deserves some cred.

In my opinion there are a few ways to make him better. 1) Have a 40% chance to expose anyone. This would make it feasible for 0 to all 5 opposing heroes being exposed giving Windu something to play with. All these exposes obviously vanish after his turn.
    2) Give him a taunt, but not just any. Make it something where attacking him with certain characters is a BAAAD decision, but one they can't choose because he taunts. Like a 50% counter attack with 50% expose chance. Then all of the sudden you have to kill him before he tears your entire team apart.
    3) Complete charecter redo. He isn't a tank, he's the champion of the Jedi Order!!! He should have flips and unique abilities more like Yoda, but honestly he should be harder hitting, and harder to hit than Yoda. HES MOTHA FUCKIN MACE WINDU!!!
  • I have him at 7* and basically maxed out on gear and think he's great. Lots of stamina, consistent 4-6K damage on his primary, more on his special attack, and shatterpoint just rocks

Good to hear. Halfway to 7* for me and I like him so far. Definitely has a place in a well balanced Jedi team. I'm looking forward to the new level 8 nodes!

And today Mace took out my entire team in the INT challenge, in a single turn. 2 are 7*, and 1 at 6* and 2 at 5*. Apparently if he does his special attack and KO's your toon, he gets another turn and does much more damage. Well, he did it to me 5 turns in a row, starting with the 5* toons, then 6*, and with the final KO blow taking out my 7* 555's In a single blow with 144000 in damage. Yeah, not a typo. 144K. Yeesh

He'd be more viable if his expose had a higher proc % and higher potency so it could actually stick.

Mace's new gear tiers beef his potency up, big time. As long as the information on swgohcantina is correct anyway :p

LOL. No, you are the one making claims that nobody else is. The burden of proof rests on your shoulders.

ETA: I did google it and the first couple things that popped up were speculation, kinda like you were doing. Please link to CANON, not EU garbage.

Link me "canon" where it says anything to the contrary.

    That's what I thought.

Not to derail the thread, but consider that we never actually saw him die. Far less powerful Jedi have survived greater falls (Though he could have been unconscious from the force lightning and splattered). I'm not arguing that he's still alive, but it would not be completely outside the realm of consideration that he is still around and kicking.

Can't say I have watched the movies closely since I was a kid, but didn't Luke fall down the same shaft and nothing happened, yet when sidious does, he explodes?

Not the same shaft. The place where Luke fell was Bespin, in EP5. The Emperor was on Death Star II when he fell.
