I want to know more about that lady, like how is her boss Thrawn!? I'm hoping this gets answered either in Mando or in the Ahsoka show that hopefully is made.
I get the appeal of wanting to know more, but this post made me realize something I'd almost forgotten about;; One of the things about Star Wars that I found fascinating when I was younger was the breadth of characters that were interesting but also very mysterious.
For example, we know SO much about Boba Fett now, but when he first debuted, he was a complete mystery. Between his appearances in ESB and RoTJ (not counting the TV special), you didn't have much else to go on, so you'd let your imagination run wild with possible backstories and then discuss those with other fans. It was fun to speculate and debate.
So, while my curiosity always wants to be satisfied, I think there's something nostalgic and tantalizing about some of these characters being a mystery. I eventually want to know more the Magistrate. But, for now I'm happy to be kept in the dark.
Yeah I totally agree with you here. It feels like people there days need to see Fett or (anyone famous in the movies, eg Solo) expanded on.. like in Solo people NEEDED to see the Kessel run.
Personally I feel making more movies and having Cameos where people meet up makes the SW universe feel smaller, making new characters and stories will expand the universe and feed games like this with new content to keep going.. or we will keep getting more Han, Luke or Chewie characters in game :/
Agreed. I felt that Rebels really suffered from cameos - to the point where I really didn't care much about Phoenix squad because the cameos were far more interesting. Though that might be in part because the main characters were pretty one dimensional until the 4th season.
I didn't have any problem with the boss lady. The atmosphere of the town, its surroundings, her willingness to sacrifice the townsfolk, and Ahsoka's quick synopsis of what she was doing was all the background that was really needed. And at the end we know she's working for Thrawn, which raises all sorts of interesting questions - where is he? Why does he need all these resources? How did he survive? Is Ezra still alive? That's excellent storytelling right there. - braskmeNew Spectator

Did you read my theory on the prisoner being Ezra? It could set up for a continuation of Rebels of some kind.
I did, but I think it's pretty unlikely as Ahsoka would have recognized him, either by sight or force sense. - braskmeNew SpectatorHopefully they cast someone relatively obscure as the Grand Admiral. Most of the casting suggestions I've seen for him would be a little too recognizable and break the suspension of disbelief for me. The casting for Ahsoka was great partly because the actor wasn't immediately obvious (but mostly because Rosario nailed it). The Grand Admiral needs to have a very strong presence, both physically and psychologically, with a calm and calculating demeanor. So far all the casting has been quite good, so I have high expectations :)

Who would y'all cast asSpoilerThrawn?
I could see Tobias Menzies.
James Woods- I'm hoping they cast Thrawn as the same guy who did it in Rebels. But for whenever they go to Thython...I'm hoping the Jedi is Cal Kestus. (Sorry if I spelled it wrong :D )
- LordDirtNew TravelerI could see them adding in Luke at the end of The Mandalorian show. Have it end with them going to Luke's Jedi temple and have a young Ben Solo being trained with all the other Jedi. Just have Luke looking like he did in the Episode 8 final fight.

Exactly! I said this awhile back, James Woods would make a perfect Thrawn. He's a little bit old but they could fix that up with some cgi and blue makeup.
But I think we should also consider David Cross."Kookermader;c-2199092" wrote:

That stache has to go!
James Woods is evil enough already! lol. I would like to see Thrawn but at the same time not. At least not the Rebels version and the book version isn't a blind follower of the Empire, so I don't think it would work unless the Imperial Remnant or First Order have something good to offer the Chiss.- We all know it should be Cumberbatch, but it won’t. He can’t be every cerebral character in every movie.
Plus Thrawn sounds too much like Kahn!!! - LordDirtNew TravelerCumberbatch would be a good choice too
