Okay, so the thing everyone will be talking about, my experience of it wasSpoilerI think exactly what the director/writers hoped. I had never looked up the actor playing Mando so I legit had no idea what he might look like under the helmet. I wasn't exactly surprised, because I had so little expectation of anything. There was a bit of surprise at the way his facial hair seems unkempt, since he seems like such an organized, careful warrior I would expect that to carry over to other parts of his personality. Interesting that it didn't. I suppose I expected a white guy, and yeah, he looks like a white guy since I remember his childhood self being portrayed with light skin, so no surprise there. Otherwise, I didn't really have expectations and it was just ... interesting. A moment to get to know him better.
It was a great way, also, to show how much Grogu means to Mando. This is what he would never do, yet for Grogu, he did it anyway. That's exactly what Mayfield was saying in the truck: there's always something you care about more than your ethics. What is that? For Mando, the question wasn't merely asked, it was answered in this episode.
Just checking you watched season 1 where mando had to take off his helmet because it sounds like you missed that bit ?
