I'm curious how they will play Thrawn, if at all. Thrawn was only loyal to the empire as long as their goals aligned with the Chiss. After reading the new books, I don't really see Thrawn as having much to do with the remnant, since they may not have anything to offer in exchange for his services. We will see.
Maybe that's where Grogu comes in ... Thrawn gets force powers in return for loyalty to imp. remnants. Then he goes rogue!
Not sure if you have read the books, I do recommend them highly.SpoilerThe Chiss do have force sensitive individuals, that loose their abilities as they age. Thrawn never had the ability. The children who can use the force are used as navigators and the Chiss ships don't have navi computers. Thrawn even had Vader pilot his ship in the books. My personal fan theory is that Thrawn makes a truce with Ezra and has him pilot the Chimera. Thrawn also learns of the Jedi purge and that would make his loyalty to the empire to be in question. I don't really see Thrawn being a commanding officer in the First Order, unless they can offer the Chiss something that the Chiss can't get anywhere else.
I haven't read the books. I will do and thx for the info. I like the truce idea, but then why the Magistrate?
Maybe an old subordinate? Not exactly sure. Thrawn ran a great ship and wasn't a classic self promoting imperial, he would actually help his crews in their weak areas and make them better as a whole. I can't wait to see him in a live action, all that should be explained in the show.
