Datacrons give you a stronger reason to care about upgrading a character over time and have it be a valuable addition to your roster at day 1
You can't use datacrons unless your entire squad is r3. Not only is this only happening on day 1 if you are whaling on it, but an r3 character is already useful. "Dianora;c-2365765" wrote:

second. all guys, who want more gear for free.. well, you miss a point. this game IS bottleneck. if CG increase amount of gear in ten times(for example) in couple of years almost ALL players will have nothing to gather. just ask yourself: Will u continue to play it after everything is unlocked and when every character is released u can instantly max it and almost every player will be doing the same? well, some guys will continue. most won't. so..yeah they want bottlenecks to be present. yeah, they want u to donate. nothing new here. yeah, they have promised increasing of gear. yeah, nothing is done and it is bad to break a promise. but nothing devastating happened. CG should watch, what they promise (mb that's why there is almost no information about future plans?)))
in less then two years: they gave conquest (u may like it or not, but it is resources. a lot of them), they increased gear amount from challenges, they doubled income of shards for characters, they increased income of crystals for most of the players. it is MUCH easier to develop a character from scratch, then it was before.yeah, when some bottlenecks are removed, then new ones are appearing , because one more time: this game IS bottleneck.
That's not quite how it works. As you keep adding more gear/relic levels you need to make the old stuff easier to obtain so that new players don't see an insurmountable wall and quit immediately. If you look at MSF, Purple gear was very hard to obtain until they added Orange gear and then it became much easier and Orange was the wall. Now Teal is the wall.
The past year has made a lot of purple easier to obtain in general but Kyros are still a huge bottleneck and then there's another painful bottleneck with Circuit Boards and Wiring. There's not even any story in the game (okay, you do feud with the Hutt guy at the fleet table but other than that) so it would be simplicity itself to just add another tier to one or more of the existing tables and toss some Circuit Boards there along with some of the newer characters instead of removing double nodes from JKR requirements for some bizarre reason.
why it isn't how it works?
I tell you this: mk5 stun guns were worse, than kyros for me. they gave me mk5 from challenges -> kyros are problem now. and kyros aren't needed(except for 100 from g12 to g13, which isn't a problem really) for a lot of characters. yeah, they split content a bit, trying to control how new players develop. I don't see any harm here, to be honest. ccb also was never a problem for me, but they gave me conquest, where I can grind g12. now I relic characters faster. now I need more mats. now I have problems with ccb, cos I need more of them. and so on and so forth.
if u remove bottleneck from kyros and low relic mats, than main problem would be mk3 carbanti. what's next? remove it as well? a lot of guys ask for it even now.. remove? than one probably will be able to get character to r5 from scratch within a week, while logging once a day for less then half an hour.honestly, I may be mistaken, but this doesn't sound like a right approach for me.
100 kyros from g12 to 13? I don't know what game you're playing but I wish. Mon Mothma alone requires 500 kyros from g9 to 13.
Like I said in my post which maybe you weren't able to read, you remove the bottlenecks in steps. Currently the top gear level is relic 9 which no one is even bothering with. Ideally, the bottleneck would be somewhere around r7 at this point. If/when they add r 10 then the bottleneck would move to r8. That's how better games handle it.
While id love for relic 7 to the bottleneck point... the reality is gear 13 aka r0 is where it should be.
I should be able to buy raddus and have him at lvl 85, gear 12 with no issue on day one.
But still we need things like carbanti, where no matter how many they "give" its never enough"Ultra;c-2365767" wrote:

people wanted communication, well... you got more words from CG in one post than last year
Hahahaha.
Its a balancing act. We want to hear from them, but when you put out something ghats not really wanted that was already leaked... you dont do that with a wall of text.
Literally, if it takes a wall of text to explain, its too complicated.

Corporate world view here.... Wall of text... Skip - Well, this datacron idea is not bad overall. However, there are couple of issues with it
- this should have been a content update. You guys are the pre-covid meeting that we all know could have been an email. This is not a road ahead, and if you think it is, you are horrible at resource allocating - at the head of a resource allocating game, and that's funny.
- In your infinite wisdom you are not adressing existing issues, but choose to ignore them instead.
- The Aayla modifier potentially creates an infinite loop, and as such increases the role of RNG over strategy. You might have built in a stopping mechanic to it but forgot to mention (or I just lost it in the wall of text)
- What year is this again? Feels like 2020 all over again, when you stopped providing your ocean of content to fix your never acknowledged spaghetti code. Are you at least working on your LOTR game properly?
- May I point out that 16 hrs after the post it has 3 likes?
- This whole datacron thing is just the battle modifiers 3.0 version. It started in your cursed GCs, then you made it universal in forms of techs during conquest, now you make them upgradable (and temporary). If you think you are getting credits for creativity I suggest you think again.
- While I cannot emphasize it enough how little it is that you offer in this RA, you still manage to fail deliver them all at once.
My expectations were low, but holy moly.... - KCeratopsNew SpectatorLike many other players, I’m frustrated. There’s so much we are asking for that hasn’t been delivered. But I want to try and remain civil despite what I WANT to say.
I worked in the gaming industry for several years. It’s a toxic industry to say the least. I understand that most of the decisions that are made are from people out of touch with the actual games. I’d wager that most of CG employees are equally upset about this RA post and the lack of communication. I’d imagine that Meathead, Crumb, or anyone else desperately want to implement/fix the issues that the players are asking for; it’s probably just not in their power to do so. It’s likely 1-2 people that are calling the shots from the top. So I basically want to address the hard work that I know CG employees are providing the game. So thanks for your long hours, low pay, and dedication to an angry fan base. My frustration is not with you, but with your boss’ boss’ boss. The one that everyone at the company hates to work for, the one that micro manages, the one that all the employees talk smack about. You know the one.
so this next message is for that person: stop treating your employees and fans the same way. You’re probably literally (albeit indirectly) killing people. Depression, anxiety, etc. it’s driving people mad. I ask for a tiny simple thing: just address the promises that we’re made. Even if the decision to not complete the gear crunch was made, can you at least tell us that? Something like “we’ve looked at the numbers and we’ve decided not to move forward”. Just address it, stop giving us the cold shoulder. It’s not that hard. Yes people will be pissed, but we already are so it’s not anything new. Just communicate. Yeesh. - PersimiusNew Scout

There was in beta, it got leaked by tester even breaking nda!, CG got ****, shut down beta testing and released anyway. ?
Why would they have done anything else? They got to beta, so it was basically done and ready. And of course they were mad, and of course they shut down the program if its members can't be trusted to stick to their NDA's. - NotRealUltraSeasoned Newcomer

Doesn't that just mean we're the beta testers? Do the results of the GACs or TWs during the exhibition phase not count? "Teron;c-2365874" wrote:
I don't think so, but different people have different things in mind, when they talk about fun.
it can also work if u make every next level of relic ridiculously more powerful and much harder to obtain.
in current state.. well, I honestly believe, that such idea won't bring anything good.
r8 is substantially harder to obtain than r7, and r9 is even worse to attain than r8. So CG have already implemented that method :joy:
