Yea it would be nice to open some of those up for exchange at least.

I do have one suggestion that might help.

Basically unless you have to never buy energy refreshes on Cantina.

Then each day optimize your free eneegy and supliment wirh one regular energy refresh.

In a week or so given your daily log in rewards, daily completions you have around a 400 crystal surplus.

Well in shipments they sell 25 pieces of gear for 375 of the most common gear needed in gear 10-12

It sure beats the long way of simming that can add up to around 2-3 weeks and around 500 in additional energy spent.

Much more value than most chromium...

So always be on the lookout for those. They only offer 1 25 piece gear set at 375 crystals each refresh, but it is a great value.

You may fall on either side of that estimate based on squad rank. I tend to float around the 500_200 range so only 60 crtstals that way. And another 50 to 100 in daily activities and bonus.

Then again you get the month long lig in bonuses throughout the month starting at 20 then 40 60 80 and 100 near the end of the month.
