Mods => Characterization
Sometimes I have random thoughts about character types that are missing from SWGOH that are inspired by mods -- either abilities that are only rarely the most useful to give to a toon (like Accuracy) or a combination of mod stats that is usually undesirable.
One that occurred to me was the ability to turn Accuracy into Crit Chance. If you're that precise, wouldn't you be able to score crits more often?
Another does the GalRep Conquest trick of reflecting damage back on the attacker, but only if they did not critically hit -- effectively turning Crit Avoid into an additional source of damage. This could mimic reflective armour that needs a precise shot to bypass.
But the one that I think best represents a character archetype and not just a cool character possibility is turning CC% into Defense. Imagine a big bruiser of an attacker. All he does is hit hard, but he can also ignore a surprising amount of damage as well. This isn't an agile warrior. No, at the beginning of the battle they convert all their CC% into a bonus to defense so they can stand there, Hulk-like. They never score crits, but they punch hard while laughing off your hits.
I think this is a popular archetype in fiction that's not represented in-game bc it's considered unfair to make someone both a hard hitter and a tanky survivor. But it could be fun, the power level could be justified by making it a Conquest unit or something similarly rare combined with the tradeoff of an attacker that never crits, and it would reward remodding to find those mods that have both CC% and Def% so that you can get the most out of the kit.
