like @Loose_Lee pointed out, what's the alternative? Not having mods (or a speed increase on mods) isn't a sollution to your problem. I also like to note that in the vast majority of my arena battles my opponent has first turn, yet i still finish top5 most days.
Don't know how much more clear I can be the whole point of this was that the randomness associated with acquisition of mods is my main issue not mods themselves.
If they weren't 100% RNG based they'd be tolerable, even if stats other than speed are totally redundant the majority of the time.
