I am somewhat against this, due simply to the mechanics inherent in optimal play. Based on other games I have played, these mods basically mean:
- does any "mod" push a character over any important breakpoints?
• equip those mods
• else, stack the most efficient type of mod for that toon (in this game probably either a speed or crit damage mod)
Due to the random damage scale of this game and the extensive roster options (now, thankfully), I highly doubt we'll see defensive mods used to help push a toon past a health breakpoint.
I hope that I am wrong and look forward to another aspect of play. I'm just loathe to call this customization for any player looking to optimize their squad.
It's way too early to tell if this will be truth or not. Looking at the mod card, it displays a new stat "physical accuracy." We just don't know what will be modded
