Mods

Hi, I’m wondering if I can get some mod help? I’m working on mods for GAS, and I found a diamond mod, which I’m considering putting on him and slicing. But I’m just trying to understand the secondaries more, and if these are good. The speed secondary seems good to me, but I feel like the others are low, and I’m not sure if that’s normal or if it’s just chance that the other secondaries don’t seem as good. Ultimately, I’m looking to understand more about how secondaries work, as well as if this mod is worth putting on GAS and ultimately taking to 6 dots.

Offense type, diamond mod. Level 15, tier A (I got it at that tier, I did not slice it.) Secondaries: 

(2) 625 health

(4) 17 speed

(1) 0.54% offense

(1) 5 defense

I know offense and speed are good for GAS, but I’m not sure if the other two secondaries are as favorable for him. And again, I’m not sure if the amounts, like 0.54%, would be considered low or not. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Speed is king. That’s a good mod for GAS. 

    I wouldn’t worry too much about the secondary stats that have only got (1) roll. For the vast majority of characters speed is your number 1 consideration. 

    There’s a series of videos on YouTube called “the playbook” which give great advice about modding and mod farming. They’re worth a look to help you focus on the most important aspects of modding.

    That is a pretty decent speed mod worth slicing. I wouldn't worry about micromanaging other secondaries unless you're a whale with a ton of mods. It's good to keep an eye out for it, but sometimes you've got what you've got.

    Once you take it to 6*, you can keep slicing and also calibrate if you want to try and dump more into that offense.

  • That’s a solid mod, particularly if you’re at the stage where you don’t have a ton of mods or a great understanding of them.  Mods are way too complicated to just casually explain in a post so definitely get on YT and find a tutorial as suggested, I haven’t seen the playbook one mentioned but if it’s recommended give it a shot.  Couple of quick tips about speed and secondaries in general:  You can have a max of 5 slices in any one stat, you have 4 speed slices already so that will only be allowed one more, the bonus +1 you get slicing to 6 dot does not count.  If you start calibrating later you can get one more slice in speed, after that you are maxed out unless you gamble on calibrating speed and removing a lower value slice trying for a higher one, that’s an endgame whale move.  Don’t do that unless you’re swimming in 20+ speed mods.  Initial speed value can be 3-5, slices after that 3-6, max value if it isn’t an arrow is 30 with the +1 from slicing to 6 dot.  sorry about the italics, I was using asterisks instead of writing dots and it turned into this, I’m not retyping that whole mess.

  • For GAS speed is good (over 300 speed) and the more protection GAS has, the longer he stands up so the rest of the 501st can do their attacks.  

    Other than speed, you generally want % stats, but if you have a mod over 15 speed, generally whatever else is on the mod is irrelevant.  (I have a few over 20 speed mods with all flat stats, speed is more important.)   Farm mods daily and keep looking for speed and keep higher speed.  As you get better mods, put them on your best teams and move their previous mods down your roster to other characters.  It's a process.
