yeah, it is not the end of the world, but this isn't the only feat that is in a similar situation
- Submit 2 raid scores - what if my guild just completed the raid right before the feat was revealed. There is a very good chance the guild won't launch the raid until the following week.
- Earn 10 keycards in conquest - some people finished conquest before this feat was activated. While these are likely people who spend on the game and probably have the episode pass, it is not impossible for someone to finish conquest with enough energy (especially given how much energy CG was giving out for small $$$$ this go around).
- Complete 5 feats in GC - enough has been said about this
Essentially CG needs to release time-sensitive tasks to be available before the event is available for all players. Doing anything else has the potential to lock out some players from rewards because the Episode Currency is tied to how much progress you make on the episde track, and the weekly reset for the Episode Store means if you don't make enough progress on the track every week, you potentially lose out on rewards that CG promised,
Case in point, my alt account could not get T10 with RF's or Tuskens last week., so i lost a lot of EP due to that. Couple that with the fact I completed what GC stuff i did early in the morning on Saturday (which is typical, i do most of my playing in the morning), so i could not complete the GC feat when it was finally activated. I was stuck on the 10th node on the episode track, halfway to 11, which means I did not get the 2nd batch of Episode Currency on Node 11. If i had gotten the GC feat, I would have made it easily.
End result is an omicron i could not buy before the store reset on Tuesday. That omicron is lost forever.
This is something CG really needs to fix, not because it is a game stopping change, but because it is an easy fix.
Some suggestions:
- All time-sensitive feats should be unlocked at the start of the week so players are not at the mercy of the clock
- Time-sensitive feats should be put at the top of the queue so the unlock as early in the week as possible
- Time-sensitive feats should be unlock prior to the event launches for everyone
- Daily feat unlock should coincide with the players own reset, not a universal time that matches CG's time zone.
- Episode store cadence should be rethought. One option is to make it a monthly reset and put the entire month's items in the store at once. Or do not remove previous weeks items when the store resets.
End goal is to make sure people don't get locked out of rewards simply because of the clock and their timezone
Absolutely a player has no idea on how the new system works.
Problem here is that its not exactly well explained by the powers to be.
People see rewards in like one or 2 days i.e. 2 GCs but this is more longer, ive earned same omis as usual it just isnt packaged the same
