I'd been using my 7*/G6 Teebo just to try out the event & was stuck on the 3rd tier then when I added zChirpa it totally changed the team.

Yeah chirpa is definitely the key. I remember trying with g11 teebo many times, but g9 chirpa unlocked 7*.
