I like the core of it, but it feels like it would be too punishing, at least for certain people. I prioritize useful leaders over activity in my allies, so I would be possibly docked my rewards from ally completion of the event, because they don't log on. Not to mention I might get a crap character as well.
I think there would need to be a lower limit to what gear and level is acceptable for escorts during the event, but otherwise that part could work. I think if you are going to offer rewards for allies completing it, the cpu should attempt it for anyone who didn't log on that day. That way nobody gets jobbed by inactive allies.
