Absolutely not then, thank you. Escort quests are almost always the worst part of ANY game, as the AI hurls itself into AOE and other danger.
The other points raised above are valid - you'd more or less need a pre-taunt, people would be more or less forced to gear up the rest of their roster so as not to negatively impact their allies... too many negative variables I'm afraid. I agree that allies could possibly serve more of a purpose in this game, but I don't feel that this is the way to go about it.
