Zombie is not a unique mechanic.
Zombie auto-revives as long as there is another NS alive. Scarif Pathfinder auto-revives as long as SP has a buff when killed.
Scarif Pathfinder actually came first. What makes the NS zombie so nasty is a combo of:
1. Auto-taunt at the end of every turn,
and
2. Auto-Stealth for the Acolyte.
Actually, before Zombie was even released and before the Imperial Trooper rework I suggested on these forums that Stormy should get an Auto-revive as long as there was another Empire toon alive. IIRC, the suggestion was before the IT rework by only a week or two, so when it came out shortly after I thought that they probably hadn't had time to seriously consider the suggestion. Then a couple months later, the NS rework came along and we got the Zombie. Maybe suggestions on the board (including mine) made a difference, but once they had decided on the creepy Halloween them for the faction pass, a zombie was inevitable, and with Scarif Pathfinder already in the game as an auto-revive, giving that power to the zombie might also have been inevitable.
So I'm not saying that our input made the zombie, and I'm not saying that it's likely that Stormy will ever (or will never) get a better zeta. I don't know.
But I will say that the idea for infinite auto-revives has been around at least since the Pathfinder, the suggestion has been made for Stormy, and Stormy still doesn't have it.
Yes, I think it would be in character. No, I don't think that it's likely to happen any time remotely soon. Which is a shame, because I think it would be thematically perfect and make Stormy as valuable as the character's iconic status deserves.
