Leviathan Mirrors are finally fixed

I literally made an account here to complain about Leviathan mirror changes after CG introduced Punishing one, and Im legit happy to see that they are finally fixed

To those unaware, Scimitar (Darth Mauls ship) ship summon got changed/buffed (I literally dont know what the old reinforcment was), giving allies 30 speed (15, but doubled for sith), and these persist after death. This means that if enemy Levi starts first, as long as you summon Scimitar first reinforcment, and even if it dies due to your hangars being sabotaged, you WILL get first ult. Enemy Levi is hardcoded to summon Sith Fighter and then Mark VI, meaning that you dont have to worry about enemy using Scimitar.

Also bit unrelated but the new Galactic Challenges seems great. Keep up with the good work.

  • I agree with both points.

Regarding Levi, it's funny actually. The other day, just before the update went live, I was asking myself when CG would finally fix it so that it's not so RNG-dependent. And what happens an hour or two later? They fix it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to throw a tantrum every time I lose a battle, as long as it's because my team wasn't strong enough or wasn't the right counter. And it's literally impossible to completely remove RNG from this game. Every now and then, the enemy is going to dodge a killing blow they'll survive a seriously powerful attack with only a sliver of health left, and in either case it could cause a bit of trouble. That's normal, a bit of RNG happened, but it was more dependent on skill whether or not you won the battle. But the Levi, after the Dagger update and before the Scimitar change, was ridiculous. Your opponent goes first, they get a massive advantage. Even if you used the Reaper strategy, it was still a matter of who got to the Ult first - you could go first the following two turns, but the enemy Levi using the Ult was all but an actual game over.

As for the GCs, again, I agree. Some of them may be frustrating, I'm referring to the ones that require Ewoks, Tuskens, Jawas, etc., especially against a team that has several counters to the respective faction and/or benefits too much from the modifiers. But with the old system, at most you were unable to complete the faction feat for the higher tiers. You could still get that feat for the lower tiers, and you could still get the other 3 feats for all tiers. Every GC this last month/episode had 2/4 feats locked, in that one of them required spending actual money while the other required having the latest marquee toon at a certain star level, which you could/can only get if you spend who knows how many crystals or even actual money. Then, take into acount the initial GCs that required Jawas or Tuskens against teams with strong defensive mechanics. You were basically locked out of and unable to get 3/4 feats for most tiers.

  • This is just a band-aid fix CG is doing to make it seem like they're fixing it.  All this does is make offense a 100% win rate now.  So leviathan is worthless on defense.  They went from 50/50 coin flip to "win on offense all the time."

So the bottom line is, in GAC and TW, don't put leviathan on defense because it'll be an easy mirror win.  You bring in scimitar as first reinforcement, then press auto.

Leviathan offense against Leviathan with 100% winrate is the best thing about the current fleet meta. If you use the absolute best fleet against absolute best fleet, it should win. I would be more upset if opponent beat my Leviathan with a Profundity than Leviathan. If you have Leviathan on defense and opponent does not, then you dont have to worry about it and opponent is risking having their fleet cleared.

Players are beating leviathan with profundity.  It can be done.  It's not as successful as leviathan, but it's doable.

The underlying issue is CG doesn't test, which is pretty sad with fleets since there are only a few fleets.  One person could try each fleet 5 times and be done testing everything in a day.  I guess the 2 billion in revenue wasn't enough to hire someone to do that for a day or two?

At the end of the day, they broke fleets, did an overreacting fix, went silent for weeks, then popped this little fix in so leviathan can beat leviathan on offense again.  So they did a 180 on the overreaction.  CG comes up with bandaids to fix the problems they caused on a consistent basis.

I think you’re missing that it’s lost its defensive capability. The skilful play used to be put meta on defense in GAC and TW and learn an off meta counter to out win your opponent hoping they cannot do the off meta. Defence holds are more pivotal if it prevents section clears.

This change is fantastic for fleet climb. But is poor for TW and GAC. It’s why the profundity was weak until it countered Levi. Because it did not hold battles as well as exec still does today. Exec is still the best after this change.

  • Not so much Levi is hard coded to call sf than mk6, more scimitar has no reinforcement level so almost every other ship would be called before it.
