From the day 1 release of this game until today has been approximately 3 months. I have a 5* Vader. I may have a 7* in another 3 months if achievements are added.

Grevious is going to be the same way. Just keep farming for the other characters you want, and in 6 months, you'll have everyone except Vader and Grevious complete. At that point, all of your shards will become shop currency anyway.
