Don't all playable characters in mission have the same abilities? I hope they do I wouldn't want mission characters to have better abilities than playable characters.

Usually but not always, some have extras iirc, though it's been so long since I manualled a mission I can't say for sure, least not sure about hard mode, challenges definitely like Cad getting an extra turn if he kills.
