While I don't have any hard numbers or data, it feels like omicron availability has really dried up. 5 a week through the episode shipments seems like the only steady source (save the 1/10,000 cantina pull). I don't recall this always being the case, so I wanted to gauge the temperature and see what y'all thought.

The extremely easy solution to this is to keep a minimum stash of 8k at all times, buy the omicrons first thing when the store refreshes every week and then you don't buy anything else until you get back to the 8k minimum stash.
20 mats from episode store are easily available to everyone. Episode currency has been shuffled around but not reduced. So far, I'm where I was last month halfway through an episode, before the Era update. You're not getting less episode currency. That's mathematically not true. So, yeah, vibes.
You can't red box hard conquest. Ok, missing out on two there.
4 guaranteed from maxing out the episode pass, which is just playing daily.
Depending on how many GLs you have, you can be getting between 0 and 8. 5 max from having 10 GLs for pink tokens after conquest, 1-3 from Leia's monthly event.
At the bare minimum, you have easy access to 24 per month. Get more GLs, red box conquest, and you will have more. What do you want me to say? Smaller rosters with fewer GLs, performing worse in conquest, get fewer omicron materials? Yeah. As you should be.

You’re assuming that everyone is getting a great conquest score and lots of the high-level content.
The availability hasn’t dried up, but the accessibility is more stagnant for lower players. There’s nothing about “vibes” when I’m very clearly getting less episode currency than I had on average before the update.
Omicrons were removed from Galactic Challenges and put into the era store instead. Initially, there were slots to buy 4 a week (more or less mirroring what he had before from Challenges) but shortly after they put in another slot to give us the opportunity to buy 5 a week.
So they've actually been made more available than they were.
Since Galactic Challenges have been removed, I'm noticing slower progress through the era reward track - if this led to a week where I didn't have enough currency to buy all 5 omicrons in the era shipments, that would be a concern. This hasn't happened to me yet.
I do have data. Let's unpack this.
Guaranteed omicron mats per month, the low-hanging fruit:
Episode shipments: 20
Episode track (free): 4
Conquest (603): 2
This requires that you play every day to max out your episode track loot and aim for conquest red box. If you're getting 603 points in conquest and stopping there instead of pushing for 630... well, you do you.
Extras (on top of the above):
Episode track (battlepass): +8
Endor Escalation: 1-3
Conquest (battlepass): +2
Peridea Patrol (R9 Zombie bros): chance for 5
Galactic Legend shipments: up to 3k tokens (with all 10 GLs) which is 5 omicron mats
This is without any whale options.
Here's what it looks like for me (13.8mln GP):
Episode shipments: 20
Episode track: 12
Endor Escalation: 1
Conquest red box: 2
GL shipments (I currently have 8 GLs): 4
Monthly omis: 39
If I wanted to, I could spend 3750 GET3 once a month to bring it to an even 40: two full omicrons per month.
