Trust me, so many players are affected with this, if CG does not fix it their revenue will go down for the next era, I have no doubt about it. If players don't entirely stop purchasing digital goods, they will most definitely stop investing in era's with real money and go F2P route and just save crystals before it if they find the era has something meaningful to add to their roster.
From the comments in this forum it seemed that due to the "bait and switch" of the last era, there was going to be a wholesale abandonment of the episode pass and other cash purchases this time around. It does not seem that is the case and probably won't ever be.
Era purchases have been at a decline for the past 2 Era's am not sure are you aware of that.
But they have not reached a point where CG has decided to lower the price or do anything else different.
