While it's true that FOTP is not working as intended and need balancing, the problem with Poe is a separate issue and can be illustrated with a team entirely without FOTP. Also it is part of a whole and you can adjust other parameters inside the game to fix the current issue without touching Poe, but those require a much more significant balance investment.
Is it problematic that speed turn one works the way it does so we get larger and larger pools of characters that need RNG to separate them turn 1 as levels and therefor speed increases? Certainly.
Can it be busted that removing turnmeter cannot be resisted? You bet.
Does damagedealers deal too much damage compared to current healthpools of characters? For sure.
There are ways of limiting the damage of these abusive Poe teams as described in here and at other places, but what I think upsets everyone is the increased importance of match outcome placed in the hands of Nuffle (the one that taketh away) that decides the random turn seeding at turn 1. We all want our skill and investment into characters to decide the match outcome as much as possible, and not resort to prayers to Nuffle (who bringeth us gifts).
Currently there is no team that does not have a significant (10-20+ %) chance of a automatic loss against a well-tuned Poe team turn one from the RNG at the hand of Nuffle (who cometh for us all), and I don't think that's what any player or developer wants.
