Yeah, I like this idea. Maybe, give new raids a run of 3 months or so. Then put the MK3 currency behind different raids as you suggest until a new raid is released.
From a CG's perspective, they want you to collect what's new and therefore use a raid that's an incentive. Jar Jar is a year old now, so....right now there's no reason not to do your suggestion.
