Poor AI is what I see as the problem. In fact they should increase the ship fleet from 5 to 7 if you ask me. Too many people only have 5 good starting ships and lousy reserves, and they are beating opponents with stronger roster all around simply because AI is so bad at playing defense. At the current state reserves are pointless.
