ship speed

Speed is based on how strong your pilot is. There is a thread on the guide section for ships but basically mod level and tier, abilities, toon level, and gear level affect the ships parameters.

What other advice do you want. Ships unlike characters currently have a max obtainable speed. With 2 same ships/crew being maxed out you can't make one faster than the other currently. Mod stats don't affect them. 6 mk5 level 15 mods of any type do the same.

So if you want to increase your ships speed.

As for what advice would be more helpful than "improve everything", you could always try dropping a link like this one:

I think "improve everything" sums up what needs to be done pretty well.

To max out a stat you have to max out crew contribution.

take this, i put an extra gear on fotp, now hes 188 speed. if I zeta his third ability, 189

@scuba: Yes...sort of. It also allows people to figure out what kinds of contributions will give them the best benefits...

And some contributions require more Credits than others, while Promotions require more time than others, etc. If you compare parts of the document, you can put your effort into the parts of your character that will help the most and the soonest. You don't get that from advice like "improve everything".

I guess my biggest negative reaction to the "improve everything" advice is that it treats the OP like an idiot. Of course improving Crew contribution improves the ship - otherwise there wouldn't be a crew contribution. While I have been known, on occasion, to treat someone on the internet like an idiot, it's always after they persist in acting like one over multiple comments. Asking one question shouldn't get that treatment.

the concealed word is one that starts with I, ends with T, and has DIO in the middle. For the record, though I think that's obvious, I wouldn't call anyone here that word and I'm trying to get people to treat people more generously, not less.
