There definitely needs to be more. But in my arena right now (April ish start?) the top 5 all have a different leader (Lando, Jyn, EP, Maul, Vader). Wedge and Boba are in the top 10. There is also a Cody, Teebo, and HK47 in the top 25. And that doesn't include Rex, QCJ, Kenobi, Finn, or Phasma lead teams that would be capable of taking the top spot.

When you consider all of the different characters in this game you can certainly argue that isn't enough, since some of those teams overlap a lot. While you can't say you can farm any character you want and be successful, I'd certainly say you can farm almost any faction you want and be successful. I've never felt that before.

Currently in my shard (I looked through it earlier today), in the top 50 38 teams had Wiggs (15 in the top 20). The rest was made up of 1 Jawa team, 1 Droid team (me), 1 or 2 Jedi teams, 1 bounty hunter team, and a few Empire teams. No clone teams (the only clone one swapped a couple clones out for Wiggs in the past week or 2, but still leads with rex). To me that is quite a lack of variety, particularly with how many different factions, and characters there are. And, this is a shard that has been going since July/August 2016. Older shards are reporting more variety, but I would like to see more variety all the way through. Most teams (except nightsisters) are indeed viable for top 100 at least, and maybe top 50, at least in a shard my age or younger, but if you want top 10 you are going to have to look at meta builds. When you obtain zetas you have more options for a top team, but this is just too much of a gap before zetas are obtained and teams become competitive.
