My last post got erased. Darn. It was a complete treatise on the legit tactic of clock blocking, sniping, and countersniping.
TLDR: it's legit, and it doesn't necessarly mean collusion. And there is pretty much no way to completely block someone else out 100% of the time. And even if it were, it would hardly be worth the effort for most people..... unless you are the dude that tries to snipe from 4 empty spots back.
Can't speak for all, but when I was top dog and a newcomer came along, I WANTED him to win first spot.... just not at the cost of moving me to 5. For some reason, this guy never learned how to play nice. Even when I sat in 2 spot to try to get us BOTH in top 2 finish, he attacked me from 6. For some reason, he also never learned to block/snipe properly, so I beat him down at will.
Strategy of sniping/clockblocking/countersniping: Pretty much you have to time last attempt, and if you know what you're doing you get a snipe/block in at about 8 minute mark (6 minutes in the Wiggs meta, lol). But if other guy pulled the trigger first, you will get to try to snipe/countersnipe at around the 3 minute mark. The idea is to leave so little time that the guy has a chance of failing... but if you try to leave TOO little, the guy is going to get in a snipe/block, first.... and YOU will be the one that has to snipe/countersnipe....and there might not be enough time left. Some dudes don't learn this. Dude on my shard was actually buying timer refreshes to try to completely block me out. That doesn't work. Oye. He was never even close.
