Raid nerf will result in pirate boycott and players quitting.
I know…. Boycotts don't really work. I agree with you. In this case however it won’t be an organized and structured boycott, but one of apathy and a natural response to CG’s incompetence.
As the raid officer in our guild I have been diligently, for months, preparing 49 other players in our guild for this new raid. Now that it’s launched, I’ve spent countless hours testing for team compositions, creating infographics and giving advice to my guild.
I have been telling other people how to spend their money and resources based on how the raid currently works. Even the threat of a nerf is making everyone in the position of an advisory role look like idiots or worse.
The reaction to this nerf threat is very loud throughout our discord server. Instead of excitement for the new raid, it’s become very hostile. All the joy and enthusiasm for the raid has instantly and irrevocably evaporated. No one wants to spend any resources with the uncertainty of a possible nerf. Many have expressed that they might just quit if this happens. Most are now going to absolutely avoid spending on pirates. Key to all of this, we feel betrayed. This isn’t as Anhald likes to sing “Fix your game!!” This is much deeper than that. CG needs to fix how they treat their players and fix their business practices.
