You run into a lot of bottlenecks as you progress in the game but eventually you'll run into the worst one of all, purple gear as Saraleb stated.
Without the 1,000 purp gear each toon needs, they are worthless. Think about a full day of playing, how many purp gear u get towards that 1,000 then multiply it by how many toons you have.
