They don’t care if a tiny number of F2P sneak through and get a new character. It’s probably good for enticing people to panic vault. If it’s a character like Traya that for a while nobody saw in arena and which seemed out of reach no matter who you are, nobody was too worried about it.
If you see whales passing you in the arena with Bastila at 7 * already, like I did yesterday, that’s going to entice people to panic vault because then they think they’re falling behind. A much more effective sales tool - you’re going to lose all the work you’ve put into getting where you are unless you pony up.
