In addition to the fact that it's a different type of event, those characters aren't specifically required for BB8. At this moment they are required by happenstance because there are only 5 FO characters, but once more FO characters have been released (which they will be in connection with the movie) these particular ones won't be necessary for future iterations of the BB8 event.
